Registration, FCRA and where donations go
- Registered entity
- The Drikung Buddhist Dharma Mandir Welfare Society, registration no. 5601/86, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in Himachal Pradesh. Wogmin Thupten Shedrup Ling Monastery operates under this Society, which receives all campaign funds.
- FCRA registration
- Registration no. 182500018 under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, valid until 13 May 2029. This allows the Society to receive donations from outside India. The Society has confirmed that foreign contributions to this campaign will be used for this building project. Registration status can be checked on the Government of India’s FCRA portal.
- Where donations go
- Donations are made through Ketto. Ketto pays out donations from India to the Society’s account with Punjab National Bank (PNB), and donations from outside India to the Society’s designated FCRA account with the State Bank of India (SBI), as Indian law requires.
- School affiliation
- Drikung Kagyu Monastic School is affiliated with the National Institute of Open Schooling (registration no. 060105).
Tax receipts
A Ketto payment acknowledgement is not a tax receipt. 80G approval for donors in India is pending; once it is approved, the monastery’s chartered accountant will coordinate receipts. Donors outside India will not receive a tax receipt valid in their own country.
